The basic premise

At every stage in a company's life the people who run that company can face challenges on many different fronts.

Whether it's pre-start-up planning, start up, surviving, growing, maybe selling, merging, diversifying, succession management, exiting or even liquidating – dealing with any one of these can be pretty daunting, particularly if you haven't done it before.

And there are often people challenges as well – from needing to sort out difficult and dangerous partnership issues to dealing with feeling unsure, alone, or just a bit flat.

Having someone to talk to can make all the difference, someone who's faced and dealt with the same things. Uncle was set up to do the same for people who run companies – a 'business uncle', if you like.
